“The woodcutter’s Treasure” Heads to TV Tokyo on May 20, 2018

 

The woodcutter’s Treasure, an animated co-production between Japan’s Toei Animation and Saudi Arabia’s Manga Productions, is heading to TV Tokyo. It will broadcast as part of a special program entitled “Atsushi Itō’s Saudia Arabia Anime Travel Journal”, a TV special which will run at 4:00PM JST on May 20, 2018.

 

 

Additionally, it was also announced that a sequel series focusing on other Saudi Arabian folk tales is currently in production. Mutsumi Kido of Toei Animation is currently acting as head producer for this project. The woodcutter’s Treasure will also broadcast on television in the Middle East with an Arabic language dub featuring actors from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iraq.
