Next PreCure Film to be Crossover between 1st “Futari wa PreCure” and 15th “Hugtto! PreCure”

It is officially confirmed today on March 17 that the PreCure franchise’s next feature film will be a crossover between its first TV series Futari wa PreCure (2004-2005) and the ongoing 15th series Hugtto! PreCure (2018-). Eiga Hugtto! PreCure♡Futari wa PreCure is set to be released as the franchise’s 15th anniversary film on October 27, 2018.

A 30-second teaser revealed today shows the encounter between Cure Black and Cure White from Futari wa PreCure and Cure Yell from Hugtto! PreCure. The clip also introduces the theme song for the film, “DANZEN! Futari wa PreCure ~Yuiitsu Muni no Hikaritachi (The One and Only Lights),” a newly-arranged version of the first TV anime’s OP song “DANZEN! Futari wa PreCure,” sung by the original singer Mayumi Gojo.

And of course, the two original voice actresses from Futari wa PreCure, Yoko Honna (Nagisa Misumi/

Cure Black) and Yukana (Honoka Yukishiro/Cure White) will reprise their iconic roles (Since the two

are wearing their Max Heart version costumes, many fans are hoping that Hikari Kujo/Shiny Luminous

will also appear…).

At the same time, Toei Animation Digital Division’s 32-year-old Hiroshi Miyamoto announced on his official

Twitter that he is attached with the film as director. He made his directorial debut with a 3DCG short PreCure

PreCure Dream Stars! in March 2017. While the teaser is drawn in full 3DCG, the whole film is expected to
