Acclaimed Illustrator Haruhiko Mikimoto Compiles His Anime Character Design Works in New Book

Japanese publisher PIE International announced today that “Haruhiko Mikimoto Character Works,” a new 248-page full-color book that compiles acclaimed illustrator/manga artist Haruhiko Mikimoto’s anime character design works for 35 years, is set to be released on June 20 at the price of 3,980 yen (about 36 US dollars).

 

The A4-size (297×210mm) book introduces original character design arts, character design rough sketches, character illustrations, rough illustrations, cell original arts, and package illustrations from his debut work The Super Dimension Fortress Macross (1982), Gunbuster (1988-1989), Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket (1989), to his latest work Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (2016).
