Good news, yuri fans! Due to the popularity of the “Kimi no Hikari” short form animation clip, Hiromi Takashima’s yuri romance manga Asagao to Kase-san will be adapted into a new animated work in 2018. Aside from the new key visual above that thanks the fans for their support, further details on the new animation have not yet been released.
A short form anime film described as an “animation clip”, Asagao to Kase-san – Kimi no Hikari is directed by Takuya Satō and features animation by ZEXCS as well as the image song “Kimi no Egao (album ver.)” by Hanako Oku. The film was published to Youtube in May of 2017, and can be viewed above.
The Asagao to Kase-san manga was originally serialized in Shinshokan’s Hirari manga magazine before moving to the Flash Wings web publication. An English language version of the manga is published by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title Kase-san and…, and they describe the story as follows:
“Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don’t seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?”
