Yasuo Ohtagaki’s “Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt” Manga Gets Anime Adaptation

The official portal site for the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Gundam. info announced today that an anime adaptation of Yasuo Ohtagaki‘s Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt manga is in the works. The anime’s teaser site also opened. How and when the anime will be distributed is not confirmed yet. Ohtagaki is best known for his astronaut drama Moonlight Mile, and the manga also got 26-episode TV anime adaptation produced by Studio Hibari in 2007.  

 

The spin-off manga, featuring mobile suits and various mechas in the One Year War period of the Universal Century newly arranged/modified by himself, has been serialized in Shogakukan’s biweekly magazine Big Comic Superior since March 2012, and the latest 6th tankobon volume is scheduled to be released in Japan this Friday, October 30.
