“Yakuza: Kiwami 2” Trailer Hypes Up Remake of Second Game

Along with the recent reveal of Hokuto ga Gotoku—a Fist of the North Star game from the Yakuza developers—Sega announced Yakuza: Kiwami 2. We may have just gotten the remake of the first Yakuza game in the west, but Japan is getting ready to move on to a beefed-up version of its sequel, with Kiwami 2 due out in the region on December 7.

Yakuza: Kiwami 2 implements Yakuza 6‘s Dragon Engine, and adds in fresh features like additional voice talent and a new Truth of Majima Goro story with a playable Majima. You can see a preview of what’s to come in the debut trailer below.

You might not be surprised to learn that Japan will also be getting a limited edition version—which packs the game with a CD set, business cards, DLC, and themes and avatars—as well as a (separate) themed PS4 model. Here’s a look at the latter:

Oh! Also, if you missed it, Sega held a survey gauging interest in localized versions of both this game and Hokuto ga Gotoku. It’s over now, but hopefully they got the response necessary to keep the western love affair with Yakuza alive.
