“Weekly Young Jump” Teases New Anime Announcement with Countdown Website

Weekly Young Jump, a seinen manga magazine published by Shueisha, is counting down to the announcement of a new anime project with an enigmatic website. The website (available here) presently only contains a timer, a red background with animated bubbles, and copyright information for Pony Canyon.

However, the URL for the mysterious countdown site (http://kda-anime.com/) seems to be a dead giveaway. Weekly Young Jump currently serializes a manga by Taku Sakamoto entitled Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun (“Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun”).

Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun is a comedy about a handsome young man who is a genius soccer player, but whose obsessive dedication to maintaining a fastidious appearance interferes with the game. If the bouncing bubbles of the countdown site represent soap bubbles, then it’s likely that a Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun anime will be announced soon.
