A new key visual (above) and additional cast members have been revealed for BAKUMATSU, an upcoming TV anime based on the otome smart phone game by FuRyu about a woman who accidentally time-travels back to Edo era Japan and becomes the object of affection for twelve samurai warriors. Tbe new cast members announced for BAKUMATSU include:
- Hiroyuki Kinoshita as Mugensai.
- Fuyuka Ōura as Mysterious Woman.
- Kei Shindō as Kasumi.
- Nanami Yamashita as Hyou.
- And Wataru Hatano as Yoshida Shōin.
The BAKUMATSU TV anime features an original story set during the end of the Edo period, where the reigning shogun is said to possess a legendary treasure known as the “Jishingi” that gives him the ability to manipulate the flow of time. Samurai warrior Takasugi Shinsaku and his allies lead a coup to capture this treasure, but their efforts are thwarted, and they find themselves transported to an alternate time-line where the country is ruled by a sinister, masked shogun known as Mugensai.
BAKUMATSU is directed by Masaki Watanabe and features animation production by Studio Deen. The series will broadcast on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) and BS-TBS beginning on October 04, 2018.
