The upcoming live-action film adaptation of Kei Sanbe’s fantasy suspense manga Boku Dake ga Inai Machi/The Town Where Only I am Missing today updated with its first 30-second teaser and a main visual featuring Tatsuya Fujiwara (Battle Royale, Death Note) as the protagonist Satoru Fujinuma and Kasumi Arimura (Strobe Edge, I am a HERO) as the heroine Airi Katagiri.
The manga has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace since its July 2012 issue and now six tankobon volumes are available in Japan. The story follows struggling manga artist Satoru Fujinuma who has a special power called “Revival,” which can send him back to before the time a tragic thing (affairs, accidents) happens. That power occurs irrespective of his will, and he can’t escape the time loop till he solves the case. With the power, he has to find the killer of the elementary school students kidnapping and murder case happened 18 years ago.
The Yuichiro Hirakawa (Rookies: Graduation, Tsunagu)-directed film is et for a release in Japan in March
2016. And a TV anime adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures is in the works for a January 2016 premiere on
Fuji TV’s Noitamina block.
