Shufunotomo today announced that a TV anime adaptation of Hisago Amazake-no’s fantasy light novel series Knight’s & Magic is set to premiere in Japan this summer. The series has been originally serialized on the “Syosetsuka ni narou” (Let’s become a novelist) site since 2010, and its bunko editions have been released from the publisher’s Hero Bunko imprint since 2013. The series has printed over 500,000 copies in Japan so far and its latest 7th volume will be released on March 25. This is the first novel to get its TV anime adaptation in the imprint, and the anime will be produced as the publisher’s 100th anniversary project.
The story follows the protagonist Ernesti “Eru” Echevarria, who was a programmer and deep robot otaku in the modern-day Japan and is reincarnated into a fantasy world where giant robots called “Silhouette Knight” are used as war weapons. Using the memory of his previous life, he starts creating his ideal robot and rising in the world.
