Bandai Namco Future Laboratory in Tokyo held a press conference for its Aikatsu! franchise’s next series Aikatsu Friends! on Sunday. In addition to the introduction of the anime‘s voice cast, a special “baton pass” PV was also screened. In the 45-second clip, the previous three protagonists: Ichigo Hoshimiya and Akari Ozora from Aikatsu! and Yume Nijino from Aikatsu Stars! introduce the two new ones from Aikatsu Friends!, Aine Yuuki and Mio Minato.
One of the two protagonists, Aine Yuuki is voiced by rookie voice actress Akane Matsunaga. She is the first prize winner of the Next Generation Voice Actress Miracle Audition held last year, and Aine is her debut role. Aine’s partner in the idol unit, Mio Minato is played by 20-year-old Ibuki Kido, known as Chisame Nakano in Bakuon! and Megumi Jinno in Eromanga Sensei. Check their voices in the “baton pass” PV below.
“Aikatsu Friends!” main voice cast:
Ainne Yuuki: Akane Matsunaga
Mio Minato: Ibuki Kido

actresses themselves. The two singer groups who performed the songs for the previous two, STAR☆ANIS
and AIKATSU☆STARS! are confirmed to “graduate” from the franchise after the “Aikatsu! Music Festa in
Aikatsu Budokan!” concerts to be held on February 27 and 28.
