Transgender Day of Remembrance

Caitlyn Jenner’s courageous decision to live as her authentic self brought great visibility to the transgender community this past year.  As we followed her journey on the E! series, “I Am Cait,” the issue of violence towards transgender people, especially trans women of color, has been discussed several times. While 2015 has been a year of great strides for the LGBT community, the murder rate of transgender women has almost doubled. For this year’s, Transgender Day of Remembrance, OUT @NBCUniversal and GLAAD partnered with Caitlyn Jenner and her friend, Trans Community Activist & Health Educator,  Chandi Moore, to create a message of acceptance and love to combat the hate and violence that exists against our friends, families, co-workers and all people who are transgender.
