It was officially announced in this year’s 28th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump released today on June 14 that Sui Ishida’s dark fantasy manga Tokyo Ghoul:re will end its serialization in three more chapters. Following the first series Tokyo Ghoul from September 2011 to September 2014, the sequel has been serialized in the magazine since October 2014, and has released 15 tankobon volumes. The series has printed more than 35 million copies worldwide.
Meanwhile, the official website for its ongoing TV anime adaptation also confirmed its second season is set to premiere in October 2018, and posted a teaser visual for it featuring the protagonist Ken Kaneki and the main heroine Touka Kirishima sitting amid the ruined Tokyo. The TV anime premiered in Japan on April 3 and its first season’s last 12th episode is scheduled to be aired in Japan on June 19.
