More cast members have been announced for Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, an upcoming TV anime based on the comedy manga by Coolkyoushinja about an ordinary office worker who ends up with a mythical dragon as a servant. The new cast members include:
Emiri Katō as Rico Saikawa, an elementary school girl who is in the same class as Kanna.
Yūko Gotō as Jorge Saikawa, Riko’s older sister who likes to pretend that she is a housemaid.
And Koari Ishihara as Shota Shinkado, an elementary school boy who ends up sharing a house with Lucoa after accidentally summoning her.
The original Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga is serialized in Futabasha’s Monthly Action seinen manga magazine. An English language version is also published by Seven Seas Entertainment, who describe the series as follows:
“Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!”
The Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid TV anime is directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto (Amagi Brilliant Park, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and features animation by Kyoto Animation. It will begin broadcasting on ABC (Asahi Broadcasting), Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, and BS11 beginning on January 11, 2017.
