Tokyo Broadcasting System and Mainichi Broadcasting System have announced that they will be bringing their 30 minute Sunday evening animation block “Nichigo” to a close and replacing it with a new 60 minute Saturday morning animation block entitled “Anisata” that will begin in April of 2017.
The “Nichigo” block kicked off in April of 2008 and filled the 5PM JST time slot with such prestigious anime titles as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, The Seven Deadly Sins, Magi, and the 2nd season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
The new animation block “Anisata” will air at 7:00 AM JST. This marks the first time TBS and MBS will have an hour-long early morning Saturday animation block since 1983, when they ran a programming block that included Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Warrior of Love Rainbow Man.
