Surprise! The “Captain Tsubasa” Mobile Game Is Heading West

Seeing as nearly every anime these days has a tie-in mobile game, it’s anyone’s guess which will make it overseas. Back in May, we reported on the upcoming Captain Tsubasa game from Love Live! company KLab. At the time it was already exceeding expectations with more than 1.5 million prereg. Now, it seems that its popularity is enough to see it come to us!

Starting next month, Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team will be released in 135 countries around the world in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Traditional Chinese. To kick off, interested players are encouraged to “preregister” by following either the game’s Facebook or Twitter.

New players will get 25 Dreamballs (in-game currency) and the SSR Tsubasa Ozora The Ball Is My Best Friend upon logging in when the game is released. In addition, Twitter followers have a chance to win one of ten Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team shirts, or one of six original illustrations signed by series creator Yoichi Takahashi.

Start building your team and battling friends in real-time online soccer matches when Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team comes to iOS and Android next month.
