It is confirmed today that Kento Nakajima, a 23-year-old member of Japanese boy idol group Sexy Zone, is starring as the male protagonist Takumi Sakagami in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of A-1 Pictures’ 2015 anime feature film Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda./The Anthem of the Heart to be released on July 22. The filming started yesterday in Chichibu-city, Saitama Prefecture, where the anime’s main story was taken place.
The acclaimed anime studio’s original film directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day) was released in Japan on September 19, 2015, and earned 1.12 billion yen from its domestic run.
The live-action film is directed by 49-year-old Naoto Kumazawa, who is known for his live-action film adaptations of popular shoujo manga series, Karuho Shiina’s Kimi ni Todoke (2010) and Rin Mikimoto’s
Kin Kyori Renai (2014). Yukiko Manabe, who worked with him in the two films and Wolf Girl and Black
Prince (2016) directed by Ryuichi Hiroki, provides a screenplay.
