Sekkō Boys (literally: “Plaster Boys”), a comedic TV anime about a group of 4 classical statues striving to become idols with the help of their inexperienced manager, will be joining the Ultra Super Anime Time programming block on Tokyo MX and BS11 beginning in January of 2016. The series is directed by Tomoko Takuni (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) and features animation by Lidden Films.
Additionally, the cast for the series has been announced, including:
- Tomokazu Sugita as Saint Giorgio.
- Tachibana Shinnosuke as Medici.
- Jun Fukuyama as Hermes.
- Daisuke Ono as Mars.
- And Shiho Kokido as Miki Ishimoto, the manager of the Sekkō Boys.
I suspect many, many rock and statue puns will be heading our way in the near future.
