Samurai Detective “Onihei” Fights Crime Beginning on January 09, 2017

The Japanese broadcast schedule for Onihei, an upcoming TV anime based on the 1967 jidaigeki novel Onihei Hakancho written by Shōtarō Ikenami, is now available online. Onihei will broadcast in Japan according to the following schedule:

 

 

  • TV Tokyo: every Monday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on January 09, 2017.
  • TV Aichi: every Monday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on January 09, 2017.
  • TV Hokkaido: every Monday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on January 09, 2017.
  • TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting: every Monday during the 26:30 time slot beginning on January 09, 2017.
  • TV Setouchi: every Thursday during the 26:10 time slot beginning on January 12, 2017.
  • TV Osaka: every Saturday during the 26:30 time slot beginning on January 14, 2017.
  • Jidaigeki Senmon Channel: every Sunday during the 23:30 time slot beginning on January 15, 2017.

 

Please note that some Japanese broadcast schedules counts early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 26:05 time slot on Monday is actually at 2:05 AM JST on Tuesday morning.

 

Samurai Detective

 

The Onihei TV anime is directed by Shigeyuki Miya and features animation by Studio M2. It follows the exploits of Hasegawa Heizō, aka Onihei (“Demon Heizō”), the head of a special police force dedicated to investigating robberies and acts of arson in Edo during the Tokugawa period. Onihei Hakancho has also been adapted into multiple live-action TV series, films, and stage-plays over the years.
