Sabae Craftmen Recreate “Kuroko’s Basketball” Shintaro Midorima’s Glasses

Bandai’s official online store Premium Bandai today starts accepting pre-orders for a glasses set inspired by the one worn by Shintaro Midorima from the Kuroko’s Basketball TV anime series. The under-rim glasses is recreated by a long-established glasses frame manufacturer in Sabae-city, Fukui Prefecture, where is known as Japan’s top producer of glasses. The city previously collaborated with the 2013 TV anime Meganebu! featuring five boys who were all wearing glasses.

In addition to the acetate frame, the 15,120 yen set also includes a cleaning cloth using the character’s newly drawn illustration, a case, and a PVC charm based on the bear doll that is one of his lucky items. Pre-orders will be closed when reaching its prepared production number, and the item’s scheduled shipping date is in September 2017.
