Red Ranger Balloon Returns to Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

The 90th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took over New York and our television screens yesterday, showing off singers, TV stars, and popular characters in the lead-up to the holiday season. And returning for the third year in a row was the Red Ranger balloon from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, just in time for the upcoming film hype.

Check out the CBS coverage of the balloon’s fly-by.

Jason’s a little taller than you might remember him, though — the Red Ranger balloon is the longest in the parade, measuring 78 feet long and requiring 30 gallons of red paint to color his famous suit. Last year, for his second flight, Parade featured an infographic with all you need to know:

Also featured as balloons in the parade were Pikachu (as part of the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise) and Hello Kitty (marking this balloon’s fifth appearance and the character’s tenth appearance overall).
