Rascal the Raccoon invaded Japan via World Masterpiece Theater more than 40 years ago, outranking even Mickey Mouse in recognition. The critter is still beloved to this day, having just come off a series of collaboration events. And now, you can interact with him in virtual reality!
The new VR experience Where’s Rascal? sets the adorable raccoon loose in the home of his young owner Sterling. Follow clues and pawprints to find Rascal in the time alloted.
A trial version of the game was available Harajuku’s Omotesando, but gamers and anime fans can test out the game proper at Tokyo Skytree next month. For 500 yen, players can try the 7-minute VR experience, which will serve as part of an ongoing Rascal-themed pop-up shop in Tokyo Solamachi.
That’s right — it’s time for another Rascal crossover, this time featuring the raccoon in traditional Japanese garb. The shop will offer limited-edition merchandise using the new key art.
Where’s Rascal? will be available to play June 2, 3, 9, and 10.
