“Power Rangers” Headed to Netflix for 24th Season

Media news site Collider has reported that, following the 2016 expiration of Saban Brands’ partnership with Nickelodeon and Bandai America, streaming service Netflix will be home to the Power Rangers starting in 2017. The site is also hearing that the 24th season will be based on Japan’s tokusatsu hero series Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, and will be called Power Rangers Shurikenhere in the States. 


 Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, the 39th entry in Toei’s Super Sentai series premiered in February of this year on Japanese.  It’s’  the third Super Sentai series with a ninja theme, followin 2002’s Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger and 21 years since 1994’s Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the franchise with incorperated traditional festival music.
