“Nyaruko-san” Author Writes “Dagashi Kashi” Novelization

It is confirmed that 34-year-old Japanese light novel writer Manta Aisora, best known for his Haiyore! Nyaruko-san series, is now working on a novel adaptation of Kotoyama’s dagashi (cheap sweets)-themed manga Dagashi Kashi. The novel titled “Dagashi Kashi: Mouhitotsu no Natsuyasumi (Another Summer Vacation)” is set for a release from Shogakukan’s light novel imprint GaGaGa Bunko on December 18, 2015. Illustrations for the novel will be newly-drawn by the manga author.


The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday since its 30th issue of 2014. The latest third tankobon volume was just published last Sunday, October 18, and the series’ total print run in Japan has reached 650,000 copies. A TV anime adaptation by feel. (Suzakinishi the Animation, Bikini Warriors) is scheduled to premiere on TBS and BS-TBS in January 2016.
