Nintendo Introduces “Miitomo” as Its First Smartphone App

During the investor briefing with new Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, the company revealed its first smartphone title. Miitomo is a communication app of sorts that lets you customize your Mii, fill it with info about yourself, and have it communicate with other Miis. Miitomo is due out in March.

Nintendo also detailed the Nintendo Account system, which lets you log in using your NNID, email, or services like Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus to purchase and download games to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo Account will have a loyalty program similar to the now-defunct Club Nintendo, offering digital and physical rewards for both buying and playing games.
