“Neko Danshi: Nyankee High School” Adds Three More Cat-Delinquents

Soma Saito, Takuya Eguchi, and Seiichirō Yamashita are joining the cast of Neko Danshi: Nyankee High School, a mixed media project by Hakusensha and Takara Tomy that envisions a world where handsome high school delinquents duke it out for the title of top fighter…and the losers transform into adorable kitties when defeated.

The new characters will be added via an update to the Neko Danshi: Nyankee High School LINE app that goes live on May 19, 2017. All three characters attend Karikari Academy, the rival school to Matatabi High. The new additions include:

Soma Saito as Toru Shitara, a splendid, loyal, and somewhat feminine delinquent who is a 3rd year student at Karikari Academy. He manages the delinquent population at Karikari in Kurose’s stead. His cat-form is a Ragdoll cat.

Takuya Eguchi as Tsuyu Aoyama, a strong and silent delinquent and a 1st year student at Karikari Academy. Tsuyu’s mysterious demeanor has earned him the nickname “The Killer of Karikari”. He often disappears without notice, but usually this is just to go to the gymasium for training. Hit cat-form is a Russian Blue cat.

And Seiichirō Yamashita as Chikataro Manjome, a grade-skipping, Yakuza-educated delinquent. Chikataro is only 13 years old, but he’s already enrolled as a 1st year student at Karikari Academy. Chikataro aims to be the top delinquent, but he’s still a kid so he goes to bed at 8PM. His cat-form is a Munchkin cat.

Set in Neko City, Neko Danshi: Nyankee High School envisions a world in which the toughest delinquents from Matatabi High School and Karikari Academy square off in an annual “Fight Fest” to determine which school is the strongest, with the losers of each match suffering the embarrassment of being transformed into cute little cats.

The Neko Danshi: Nyankee High School mixed media project includes a LINE app that allows users to interact with their favorite cat-boy characters as well as a manga illustrated by Yuki Shibamiya that is serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume shōjo manga magazine.
