It is officially confirmed today that Natural Rain‘s web novel Clione no Akari (The Light of Clione) will be adapted into a TV anime on Tokyo MX and other stations this July. The novel first published online in 2004 and got its stage play adaptation in the following year. Then its print edition was published by East Press in June 2012.
29-year-old singer/voice actress aki/Aki Deguchi announced on her official Twitter that the TV anime’s OP and ED theme songs will be performed by her and she writes the lyrics for both songs. She says, “I hope the anime will be loved by everyone.”
She was a member of Japanese idol group SKE48 from 2008 to 2014, then made her solo singer debut in February 2015, releasing her 1st solo single “FLASH BACK.” Her 2nd single song “Zettaiteki Seiten Aozora” released in November 2016 was used as the ED theme for the TV anime Bishoujo Yuugi Unit
Crane Game Girls Galaxy, in which she also joined as the voice cast of Pedro Oda.
The story centers on Minori, who has been suffered from bullying for a long time. Takashi and Kyoko who
have wanted to see her smile finally call out to her in the afternoon of a rainy day. But she doesn’t show
her smiling face to them, then she becomes sick and stops coming to school at all. Two months after that,
they receive a mysterious cell-phone mail without its sender’s name and address, so they can’t reply to it.
It says a summer festival is going to be held in the neighboring town soon-.
