Mitsuki Takahata Set to Star in “Boukyaku no Sachiko” TV Drama Adaptation

TV Tokyo announced today on December 5 that a live-action TV drama special based on Jun Abe’s comedy manga series Boukyaku no Sachiko/Sachiko of Forgetfulness will be aired at 23:15 on January 2, 2018 (JST). 25-year-old actress Mitsuki Takahata (Kokone Morikawa in Ancien and the Magic Tablet) is set to star the protagonist Sachiko Sasaki whose fiancee ran away during the wedding ceremony.

The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits since August 2014 and its 10 tankobon volumes have printed over 500,000 copies in Japan. The story follows the protagonist Sachiko’s eating tours for various delicious foods around Japan. She, who works as an editor for a literature magazine, thinks she can forget about her fiancee who left her only by eating.
