Masako Nozawa Wins Guinness World Records for Video Game Voice Acting

Veteran voice actress Masako Nozawa has been honored with a pair of awards by Guinness World Records, recognizing her as the current record-holder for the longest time voicing a single character in video games and also as for the longest time working as a voice actor in video games for her work as Son Goku in Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Dragon Ball Z video games.



As of when the award was issued (October 25, 2016), Nozawa has been voicing Son Goku in DBZ-related games for 23 years and 218 days. Her video game voice work began with the 1993 Super Famicom game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden. Nozawa was officially presented with the awards at a special ceremony in Tokyo on January 31, 2017.
