Marty Friedman joins “iMarine Project” as Special Guest Guitarist

Marty Friedman, former lead guitarist of heavy metal band Megadeth, has been tapped as a special guest artist for the “iMarine Project”, a collaboration effort which celebrates the 15th anniversary of Marine-chan, a character from the popular Sea Story line of pachinko machines published by Sanyo Bussan.

Pictured above with Vocaloid music producer Hachioji-P, another member of the iMarine Project, Friedman is quoted as saying that he’s “looking forward to the dangerous new fusion” of his guitar combined with Hachioji-P’s musical arrangements.

The iMarine Project was initially unveiled in February of 2015, and features such other artists as:

  • WakamuraP as the Music Video Director.
  • Yumiko a.k.a. MTP as the Dance Choreographer.
  • Kano as the Lead Vocalist.
  • And Hakuri as the Character Designer.

The iMarine Project is not the first time that the Sea Story pachinko series has crossed into another medium. Sea Story was also adapted into 2 manga series and a TV anime in 2009. The anime adaptation is directed by Junichi Sato and features animation from Studio Zexcs.
