“Mahou Shoujo? NariaGirls” Rehearsal Video Explains How to Make Live TV Anime

The official YouTube channel of the new live-broadcasting TV anime Mahou Shoujo? NariaGirls has posted a 13-minute rehearsal video filmed on June 16, featuring its three main voice cast. The video explains how to animate the CG characters in real-time with the “Kigurumi Live Animator KiLA” software. NariaGirls is the first regular commercial TV anime created with the software using motion capture system.


Anime footage for each episode are first created in a live-broadcasting program to be streamed on Nico Nico Live, then its edited complete version will be aired on TV afterward. The Nico Nico Live program is set to start streaming on July 1, then Tokyo MX and Sun TV will air the TV anime version five days later.

 Hanabi: Aoi Koga (Yuri Ashida in Aikatsu Stars!)

 Inaho: Yuuki Kuwahara (Hime Arikawa in Himegoto)

 Animaru: Kotaro Ishidate (the director of the anime himself)
