“Magical Mirai” Opens Its Fifth Anniversary Website

Hatsune Miku is celebrating her birthday in style again this year. The latest Magical Mirai CM is a 15-second sneak peek at the concert, expo, and interactive fun behind this year’s event:

The event, which marks its fifth anniversary this year. The first, a series of concerts throughout the weekend, will consist of five performances (three morning, two afternoon). Tickets range from 7,000-9,000 yen. A lottery will be held between March 18 and April 3 for advance commemorative tickets. Reservations open to the general public on August 5.

The exhibition will include art exhibits, dealers, workshops and more, and can be attended independent of the concerts. Tickets for admission to the exhibition also go on sale August 5.

In addition, there is a contest running in honor of the event. Entrants are invited to create a new Miku song of 4:30 or less. The winner will be performed onstage during the concert. Winners will also receive a 100,000 yen Sonicwire gift certificate and their choice of either two tickets to the event or a Magical Mirai prize package. Runners-up will receive a 30,000 Sonicwire gift certificate.

In order to make entry easier, Sonicwire is offering a 40-day trial of Hatsune Miku V4X. Check out the website for more info.

The site has also released the event’s key visual (drawn by iXima, who also handled the V3 and V4X box art) and information on the event’s theme. This year’s theme, which can be heard in the commercial, is titled “Suna no Wakusei” and composed by Hachi.
