Live-Action “Ghost in the Shell” New Clip Announces Japanese Release Day and Title

The Japanese official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of the popular Japanese sci-fi action franchise Koukaku Kidoutai/Ghost in The Shell originally created by Masamune Shirow today posted a 30-second “Intermission” clip announcing its release day in Japan, April 7, 2017, which is one week later than its US release of March 31. The clip contains footage from the “Ghost in the Shell Exclusive Event” held in Tokyo on November 13, introducing Scarlett Johansson as the protagonist “The Major” and Japanese comedian/actor/director Beat Takeshi as Daisuke Aramaki.

And it is also confirmed that the live-action film is officially titled ゴースト・イン・ザ・シェル/Ghost in The Shell in katakana, not using its original Japanese title 攻殻機動隊/Koukaku Kidoutai.
