Level-5’s “Ni no Kuni” JRPG Series Makes the Jump to the Silver Screen

 

Ni no Kuni, a series of JRPGs created by Akihiro Hino and developed by Level-5, is being adapted into a theatrical anime film that will screen in Japanese cinemas in the Summer season of 2019. The main staff for the film has been revealed, including:

  • Director: Yoshiyuki Momose
  • Music: Joe Hisaishi
  • Animation production: OLM
  • Starring: Kento Yamazaki

 

 

An official website and Twitter feed (@Ninokuni_movie) have also been published for the Ni no Kuni film. The film features an original story in which Yuu (CV: Kento Yamazaki), a high school student, and his best friend Haru travel back and forth between the ordinary world and the parallel world of Ni no Kuni in an effort to save Kotona, a childhood friend who exists in both worlds and whose life is in danger.
