Lead-In To Comiket” Offers An Early Look At Ufotable Plans For “Touken Ranbu” Anime

Nitroplus and DMM’s famous-swords-as-cute-boys game Touken Ranbu is being adapted into a 2017 Ufotable series and after the fall 2016 Hanamaru series. Hanamaru was the goofier of these, with the cast staying in their casual clothes and joking through the passing seasons. Promo art for Comiket has offered a look at a more dramatic Katsugeki from Ufotable.

The anime is slated for July 2017 with Toshiyuki Shirai (Fate/zero animation director, episode diretor on Unlimited Black Works, God Eater and Tales of Zestiria the X) directing and Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) on music.
