Previously announced back in January, a “flying get” report from an Internet cafe has revealed that the TV anime adaptation of Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau (“Whale Calves Sing on the Sand”) will broadcast beginning in October of 2017.
The announcement comes as part of the “obi” paper wraparound included on the release of the 9th volume of the manga, which is released in Japan on March 16, 2017.

Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau is written and illustrated by Abi Umeda. It has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Monthly Mystery Bonita shōjo manga magazine since 2013.
Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau follows a mysterious moving island called “Mud Whale” that floats on a sea of sand. The island is inhabited by people gifted with special powers called “saimia”, but using these powers shortens one’s life-span. “Mud Whale” is completely cut-off from any other human civilization, but one day a young archivist named Chakuro meets a girl from a different island, and his destiny will never be the same.
