According to the latest Oricon report, both DVD and Blu-ray of the KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm feature film, released in Japan on June 16, ranked No.1 in its weekly anime disc sales charts ended June 19. The DVD and Blu-ray sold 5,000 and 13,000 units respectively in its first week.
In the overall sales charts, the DVD ranked 5th and the Blu-ray took third place, and they are the highest rankings for the Pretty Rhythm anime franchise started in 2011. The previous highest-ranked DVD was “Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live DVD BOX-2” that ranked 40th in June 2014, and Blu-ray was “Pretty Rhythm PRISM SHOW☆FAN DISC” ranked 23rd in March of this year.
The spin-off film to Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live, the third Pretty Rhythm TV anime, opened in Japan on January 9, 2016. As of May 18, it had earned an impressive 600 million yen on 360,000 admissions at the Japanese box office. Even after its DVD and Blu-ray were released, 31 theaters across Japan
are still running the film in 4DX format since last Saturday.
