Kickstarter Launches for “Dies irae” Visual Novel Localization

Earlier this month it was revealed that the Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ visual novel would be returning to the world of crowdfunding to raise money for an English localization. Well, the time has since passed, and the Kickstarter campaign recently went live in hopes of securing $160,000. With 24 days remaining, the campaign is already at a comfortable pace, raking in nearly $78,000 from almost a thousand backers.

As long as the campaign continues like this, Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ will be coming to Steam at an estimated delivery of May 2017.

Here’s the video pitch:

Dies irae first made its debut in 2007 as “urban fantasy battle opera” Dies irae -Also sprach Zarathusta. A few re-releases later the story was completed in the form of Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ on PSP and PC.

A 2015 crowdfunding campaign raised 300% of its goal toward the production of an anime adaptation, which is set to premiere in 2017.
