Join the “King’s Game” This October with Anime Adaptation

The only way to win is not to play — unfortunately, you don’t really have that option.

The cell phone novel King’s Game received a film adaptation in 2011, and now Pakkuncho’s horror story is getting the anime treatment. The story focuses on a class of 32 students who receive texts from “the King,” a mysterious figure who has recruited them into a life-or-death game. The rules of the game:

1. All students in the class must participate.

2. After receiving an order, the student must carry it out within 24 hours.

3. Those who do not carry out their order will be punished.

4. You may not withdraw from the game.

A few of the lead cast members have already been announced:

Nobuaki Kanazawa: CV Mamoru Miyano (Rin Matsuoka, Free!) – A transfer student from a far-off high school. He deliberately avoids getting to know his classmates, due to events at his previous school.

Natsuko Honda: CV Yui Horie (Charle, Fairy Tail)

Chiemi Honda: CV M.A.O (Hikari Yagami, Digimon Adventure tri.)

Ria Iwamura: CV Pile (Maki Nishikino, Love Live!)

Kenta Akamatsu: CV Yusuke Sasaki

Naoya Hashimoto: CV Shinnosuke Tachibana (Maximilian, The Royal Tutor)

Riona Matsumoto: CV Akari Uehara (Nephren, WorldEnd)

The series will be animated by Seven (Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor, Ai-Mai-Mi) with Kenji Konuta (Ace of Diamond, Saiyuki Reload Blast) in charge of series composition. It will air starting in October on AT-X, TokyoMX, and BS11.
