J.C. Staff Explores the Strange World of “Children of the Whales”


An official website has been published for Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Uta, known in English as Children of the Whales, and it includes a new key visual (above), a new preview video (below), and the main staff listing for the upcoming TV anime based on the surreal fantasy manga by Abi Umeda.

Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau follows a mysterious moving island called “Mud Whale” that floats on a sea of sand. The island is inhabited by people gifted with special powers called “saimia”, but using these powers shortens one’s life-span. “Mud Whale” is completely cut-off from any other human civilization, but one day a young archivist named Chakuro meets a girl from a different island, and his destiny will never be the same.
