It’s a Dog-Eat-Dog World in “Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens”

The official Japanese broadcast schedule has been revealed for Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, an upcoming TV anime based on the series of crime novels written by Chiaki Kisaki about a secret, criminal underworld that operates in the seemingly peaceful city of Fukuoka.

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens will broadcast according to the following schedule:

  • Tokyo MX: every Friday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on January 12, 2018.
  • BS11: every Friday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on January 12, 2018.
  • AT-X: every Friday during the 22:30 time slot beginning on January 12, 2018.

Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so the 24:30 time slot on Friday night is actually at 12:30 AM JST on Saturday morning.

The original Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens novels are published in Japan by ASCII Media Works under their Media Works Bunko imprint. The Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens TV anime is directed by Kenji Yasuda and features animation by Satelight.

The story of Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens follows Zenji Banba, a private detective who works in the city of Fukuoaka where 3% of the population is secretly involved in organized crime and where revenge, torture, and even murder are for sale. Against this backdrop, Banba investigates a disturbing urban legend: rumor has it that “a killer of killers”, an assassin who preys on other people who commit murder for hire, has set up shop in Fukuoka. As Banba digs deeper, he uncovers a dark conspiracy that threatens to shake up the underworld.
