In December of 2015, Hobby Japan will publish a new book entitled Godzilla vs. Biollante: Completion, a non-fiction behind-the-scenes look at the making of the classic Heisei series giant monster movie from 1989. The book will feature interviews, archival material, and photographs exploring the creation of the film.
Godzilla vs. Biollante is directed by Kazuki Ōmori and produced and distributed by Toho Studios. In the film, the rampaging Godzilla faces off against Biollante, a plant monster created when Godzilla’s radioactive cells are spliced with a genetically-engineered rose bush containing the spirit of a scientist’s deceased daughter.
Godzilla vs. Biollante is released on Bluray in North America by Echo Bridge Entertainment.
Godzilla vs. Biollante: Completion will be released to Japanese book stores on December 16, 2015. The book retails for 4212 yen ($34.76 US) including tax.
