Yoyogi Animation Academy held a press conference to reveal its “Voice Actress Idol Audition” in Tokyo on January 28 and appointed Rino Sashihara, a 24-year-old member of Japanese girl idol group HKT48, as the project’s producer. She has won AKB48’s general election for three times, in 2013, 2015 and 2016, and has served as the producer of the school since July 2016, along with Yasushi Akimoto (AKB48 producer), Tetsuya Komuro (TM Network, globe), and Tsunku (Morning Musume, Hello! Project).
Yoyogi Animation School is Japan’s largest animation school that has eight campuses across Japan, with 860 students majoring in animation, manga, video games, and voice acting. The school’s well-known graduates include Nana Mizuki, Yukari Tamura, Yoshino Nanjo, Yuichi Nakamura, Takahiro Sakurai, and Kenichi Suzumura.
Entries for the open audition will be accepted from January 30 to February 28 at 23:59 (JST) via this form.
Several girls will be chosen to form a new “voice actress idol” group, and their debut single is planned to
be released early this summer. Their voice acting lessons will be provided by Yoyogi Animation School.

– You have currently no contracts with any agencies.
– No previous experiences is required.
– You will be able to have a base in Tokyo for your activities after you are passed.
