Dandelion Animation Studio has released the opening animation for ROBOMASTERS THE ANIMATED SERIES, an upcoming Japanese / Chinese co-production that is based on the real-life “ROBOMASTERS” competition in which engineering students square off to see who can build the best remote-controlled robot. The animation highlights the opening theme, entitled “super nova”, which is performed by un:c.

The story of ROBOMASTERS THE ANIMATED SERIES follows Tantan, a freshman university student who is determined to perfect his aerial drone without any assistance from others. A chance encounter leads Tantan to become more open-minded about his design philosophy, and soon Tantan and his new friends are gearing up to compete in the annual “ROBOMASTERS” engineering contest.

ROBOMASTERS THE ANIMATED SERIES is directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto and features animation by Dandelion Animation Studio LLC and Gonzo. The series will begin broadcasting in Japan on WOWOW on October 13, 2017, during the 22:30 time slot (10:30 PM JST). ROBOMASTERS will also begin digital distribution in China on that same date, with digital distribution in Japan to follow later.
