Go Back to Work With Doctor Doom!

Back to Work With Doctor Doom

It’s Monday, and that means that you’ve had to find the strength to shake off the after effects of a weekend well spent just to get back into shape for the weekday work-athon. It’s tough, sure, but it’s a fact of life–one that isn’t lost on super humans either. Yep, Mondays mean back to work for super heroes too, as they trade in their uniforms for something more business casual.

Doctor Doom may be known as the most ruthless super villain in the Marvel Universe, but that’s not the case in his home country of Latveria.

Yes, he can be temperamental and he does keep his Doombots on constant patrol of the country’s streets, but that only keeps Latveria’s crime rates way down! In fact, the Balkan country has actually had worse rulers than Doctor Doom – a fact that does not go unnoticed by longtime residents of Latveria.

Just because Doctor Doom’s an unrelenting terror to the rest of the globe doesn’t mean he subjects his homeland to his megalomaniacal menace.

As the absolute ruler of Latveria, Doom cannot even find solace when he returns home. Super heroes and fearful foreign governments watch his every move when he leaves his home country, and his citizens cannot help but stare at him – and sometimes cower in fear – when he sets foot back on his home soil. Of course, Doom might draw considerably less attention if he didn’t choose to strut around Latveria’s streets in full body armor and a flowing green cape.

However bad of a reputation Doom might have to the rest of the world, the guy’s kinda beloved in Latveria. During his rule, the surprisingly good doctor ensured that every one of his citizens had all they could desire. The villagers learned to appreciate Doctor Doom’s rule when a tyrant named Zorba took over Latveria and oppressed his newfound kingdom.

Considering Doom’s volatile reputation, though, it should come as no surprise to learn that Latveria has suffered its fair share of destruction during his reign. Recently the ruler tried to level up and become Doom the Annihilating Conqueror, thus drawing fire from some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters and causing a lot of collateral damage.

Doom takes control of his own Avengers team in AVENGERS WORLD #15 this November!
