Originally revealed in July, the Gintama action game was previously known simply as Gintama: Project Last Game. Thanks to the latest issue of Jump we can stop calling it that, because the official title is Gintama Ranbu, which will be feature “samurai melee action” in the vein of a Musou-style game.
Some of the locations revealed thus far include the Kabuki District and the Shinsengumi Headquarters, and we also have our first announcement of additional playable characters. Joining in on the action with Gintoki are Shimura and Kagura, who battle using a sword and umbrella, respectively, as well as some swift kicks from Kagura.
Players will also be able to pop on Gintoki’s Shiroyasha outfit whenever Gintama Ranbu launches. There’s currently no date for the PS4 and PS Vita release, but an English-subtitled Asian version was previously revealed.
