Fruits Basket Anime’s First Two Episodes to Screen in U.S. Theaters


If you’re looking forward to the brand new anime adaptation of Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket manga, you’ll have an opportunity to check it out before the broadcast debut in Japan. Funimation Films announced plans to screen the first two episodes of the series in a special theatrical event, with tickets now available for March 26 (dubbed) and March 27 (subtitled) showings in the United States. 


Those who see Fruits Basket theatrically will get an exclusive gift pack that includes a commemorative 16 oz. stadium cup, lanyard, and set of three pinback can badges featuring Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru.

Yoshihide Ibata (FLCL Progressive) directs the new adaptation, with Taku Kishimoto (91 Days) handling series composition and Masaru Shindou (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) on character designs at anime studio TMS Entertainment. Fruits Basket is set to make its broadcast debut this April.
