Final Fantasy XV: Stormblood was officially announced back in October, and now it’s got a final release date that you can look forward to. The expansion will be part of a simultaneous launch across North America, Europe and Japan on June 20, 2017.
The news was broken by Square Enix at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, and included some additional bits of information about the collector’s edition, which will include:
- A special package featuring original art by Yoshitaka Amano
- Exclusive high-quality Zenos figure
- Stormblood art book
- Cloth map of Eorzea
- Original decal
- Syldra Mount
- Wind-up Bartz Minion
- Red Mage Main Arm: Chicken Knife
Additionally, the Red Mage job is brand new to Stormblood as far as Final Fantasy XIV goes, offering rapiers, magicked crystal mediums and a hybrid ranged/melee play style that starts at level 50 without an associated class.
There will be new swimming controls and modes added as well, with diving offered as an alternative. New gathering locations, a beast tribe named The Ananta, and two new high-end raids will be added including Return to Ivalice, which is being written by Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics creator Yasumi Matsuno.
