Feel The Vivid Summer Atmosphere in “Uchiage Hanabi/Fireworks” Theme Song MV

The official YouTube channel for 20-year-old Japanese singer/rapper DAOKO has posted a five-minute full music video for her 3rd single song “Uchiage Hanabi” to be released on August 16. The song is written/composed/produced by by singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu and is used as the theme song for the upcoming anime film adaptation of internationally acclaimed Japanese director Shunji Iwai’s 1993 TV drama Uchiage Hanabi, Uekara Miruka Shitakara Miruka?/Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom?

DAOKO also re-recorded the theme song for the 1993 original drama, “Forever Friends,” as an inset

song for the anime film. Its music video is directed by the drama’s original director Shunji Iwai.

The anime film edition is directed by Nobuyuki Takeuchi, who has worked as visual and production designer

for Shaft’s Monogatari series, on a screenplay by Hiroshi Oune (Moteki, Bakuman. live-action film director).

Akiyuki Shinbo (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) serves as general director. Shaft works on anime production.

The time loop-themed anime film is set to be released in Japan on August 18.
