DOTAMA Gets Spooky with “We Are Humanoid Monster” OP Theme

Hiphop singer DOTAMA will perform the opening theme for Oretacha Ningen Yokai (“We Are Humanoid Monster”), an upcoming short-form gag anime based on the classic 1960’s cartoon Yokai Ningen Bem in which three bug-eyed monsters try to pass for human in a thriving Japanese city.

The opening theme is entitled “Oretacha Ningen Yokai! ~Ningen Mezashite Nani ga Warui~” (“We Are Humanoid Monster! What’s Wrong with Aiming to be Human?”). The song will be released as single in Japan on October 04, 2017. It features arrangement by Quviokal, composition by Tanaka Masabumi, and lyrics by Daiichi Douga Bungeibu.

Oretacha Ningen Yokai is directed by Yuzuru Adachi and features animation by DLE. The story follows the everyday adventures of Bem, Bera, and Bera, a trio of humanoid monsters who disguise themselves as humans and try to fit in among human society with often hilarious results. Oretacha Ningen Yokai will broadcast in Japan according to the following schedule:

  • Tokyo MX: every Wednesday during the 23:30 time slot beginning on October 04, 2017.
  • BS11: every Monday during the 26:00 time slot beginning on October 09, 2017.

(Because some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, the 26:00 time slot on Monday night is actually at 2:00 AM JST on Tuesday morning.)
